Lesson 6 of 10
In Progress

Calculate subtraction operations by applying the use of regrouping

Subtraction

Subtraction is taking away one number from another, reducing the number where it becomes less.

 Example:

        8              –             3                =           5

Vertical Subtraction

Similarly, to addition we place the numbers into columns and subtract!

Example:

Subtracting using Regrouping

Regrouping is the process of rearranging groups when the digit doing the subtracting is smaller than the digit being subtracted, we regroup or borrow from a higher place value.
