Let’s recall what we saw. These are the slippers we saw in the first display, here we can count four slippers. From these four slippers we can make pairs. There are two pairs of slippers in this image.
This tells us that the number four can be grouped into pairs. When a number can be grouped into pairs and leaves no remainder, as seen in the example with the slippers, this number is known as an even number.
Some examples of even numbers are: 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8.
Here’s a bonus tip, any number that ends with 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8 is an even number.
